WEBSTER — South Worcester County Communications Center Board advances 2027 budget with reserve draw. The board unanimously approved using $30,000 from reserves to offset local appropriations for FY2027, following level funding of the state 911 Support and Incentive Grant. Vice Chairman Jonathan Ruda initially preferred a $50,000 draw before Chairman Richard LaFond concurred with the $30,000 figure.
In a capital matter, the board also unanimously authorized approximately $3,900 to purchase and install a used radio at the Dudley Police Station emergency backup dispatch center, replacing a 19-year-old unit incompatible with the forthcoming state radio system.
