Selectmen back lake management plan, authorize herbicide treatment

Board of Selectmen · Meeting of March 9, 2026

Webster board backs herbicide treatment for invasive lake weeds, opens town meetings. The Board of Selectmen voted 3-2 to support whole lake herbicide treatment using fluoridone for invasive aquatic vegetation on Webster Lake, while unanimously backing a grant-application process to fund a five-year lake management plan. Chairman Tom Klebart emphasized neither motion commits town funds.

The board unanimously appointed Barbara Plasse as Federal Resident Commissioner to the Webster Housing Authority for a five-year term, approved a Class II used motor vehicle dealer license for Care Auto Group LLC at 31 Hill Street with parking limits, and opened warrants for both the Spring Special and Annual Town Meetings scheduled for May 11, 2026, at Bartlett High School with a March 27, 2026, closing date.
