WEBSTER — South Worcester County Communications Center Board approved nearly $60,000 grant for dispatch system replacement study. Director Gregory Lynskey received a Regional Development Grant award to fund a consultant who will conduct a current state assessment, needs assessment, and product selection for a computer-aided dispatch and records management system replacement, with the full system replacement expected to cost approximately $500,000. The board deferred a decision on whether to use reserve funds for a $15,000 interactive communication kiosk for the Dudley Police lobby, designed to serve deaf and hard of hearing callers.
The board also confirmed the May 23 termination of dispatcher trainee Jocelyn Lopez after she did not progress satisfactorily through training.
