Water board reviews $10.35M biosolids dewatering design

WEBSTER — The Water Sewer Commission reviewed a $10.35 million biosolids dewatering system design for the wastewater treatment facility. Tighe & Bond consultant Ryan Siegel presented the proposal, noting existing buildings may require partial demolition and reconstruction. The expanded project scope requires an additional $100,000 in engineering funding to be requested at the fall 2026 town meeting, with the project potentially ready for presentation at the Spring 2027 town meeting.
The commission approved the prior month's minutes unanimously and received updates on meter replacement efforts totaling $30,648.28 in scrap sales, Mass DOT water main work resuming March 25 at no additional cost, and staffing plans for a backup wastewater operator.
