Webster Finance Committee reviews $71.6M FY27 budget showing 6.79 percent growth and stronger state aid. The budget increase, presented by Town Administrator Richard LaFond and School Superintendent Monique Pierangeli, reflects 50 additional students and higher Chapter 70 state funding, with a 3.17 percent rise in total tax levy. However, health insurance costs pose long-term pressure: a 10 percent increase this year and 15 percent projected for next year.
The town is adding one police officer and certifying the Fire Department as First Responders. Town officials requested a July meeting to address FY28 projections.
