Webster Water Commission Approves 8 Percent Water, 5 Percent Sewer Rate Increases
Water Sewer Commission · Meeting of April 22, 2026
Webster Water Sewer Commission approves modest rate increases for FY2027. The commission unanimously approved an 8 percent water rate increase to $114.07 per 1,000 cubic feet and a 5 percent sewer increase to $118.43 per 1,000 cubic feet. Superintendent Tom Cutler and Town Accountant Tim Bell received praise for their financial planning.
The increases fund ongoing infrastructure projects including a new treatment plant at Bigelow and an alternate well at Memorial Beach, as well as PFAS remediation efforts. The rates are lower than last year's recommendation of 10 percent for water and 15 percent for sewer.
