Board of Selectmen · Meeting of April 13, 2026

Webster selectmen suspended the Athletic Boosters Club of Webster's liquor and food licenses for 21 days after an after-hours drug overdose at the club. Police Chief Shaw and Sergeant Rob LaRochelle told the Board of Selectmen that officers and three ambulances responded to the club at 215 North Main Street at 1:15 a.m. March 8 after two women overdosed on what Shaw believes was cocaine laced with fentanyl, with one patient requiring 14 milligrams of Narcan.

A club board member, Eric Reardon, was also exposed to the drug and has since been removed from the board. The board rejected the town's standard three-day first-offense penalty, instead voting unanimously to begin the suspension Friday, April 17, 2026, for 21 consecutive days. Club representative James Rourke told selectmen "this is not what we are as a club," noting the bartender involved was fired and the supplying patron banned.

Selectmen separately voted to make the town website, rather than the Town Clerk's board, the official place to post public meeting notices.
