Webster's Zoning Board of Appeals pushed the Nipmuc Ski Club's zoning appeal to October 6 after the club's representatives requested a continuance. Chair Jason Piader opened the hearing by reading the warrant under Webster Zoning Bylaw Section 650-11A, covering the club's property at 235 Thompson Road, which sits in the Lake Residential and Lake Watershed Protection districts. Club board members Jason Cater and Dale Blake appeared to request the delay; the club, represented by attorney Andrew T.
Lechner of Merrick Law, agreed to extend the board's statutory 100-day decision deadline to December 2, 2026, rather than force a rushed ruling. The board voted 5-0 by roll call to approve the continuance, with Director of Planning and Economic Development Joseph P. Wigglesworth asked to prepare the written extension.
One board member noted that "asking for this continuance puts a time crunch on the board," prompting the deadline extension. The board also approved its May 5 and June 2 minutes unanimously before adjourning to October 6.
