Zoning Board · Meeting of June 2, 2026

WEBSTER — The Webster Zoning Board of Appeals approved a garage variance at 13 Cedar Point Road but denied a carport variance on the same lot, then separately cleared a special permit for a two-car garage expansion at 84 Union Point Road. Four members, Jason Piader, Christopher Daggett, Jeff Czechowski and alternate Kathleen Dimmich Mahaffy, voted 4-0 to grant the garage relief, including a front setback of 10 feet, 1 inch where 20 feet is required, but voted 0-4 against the carport, citing a lack of unique site conditions. One member said town counsel has advised that when owners "want to put something more on their property, the solution is sometimes to buy more land." The Union Point Road permit, for a 24-by-30-foot garage with a 24-foot height cap and a Highway Department curb-cut condition, passed 4-0.

Director of Planning Joseph P. Wigglesworth will sign both decisions, starting a 21-day appeal period.
