Webster Conservation Commission approved a shoreline stabilization project at the end of Bates Grove Road in a 5-0 vote.
Conservation · Meeting of May 12, 2026
Webster Conservation Commission approved a shoreline stabilization project at the end of Bates Grove Road in a 5-0 vote. Conservation Agent Richard Parent said keeping all new grading and riprap above the 480-foot mark let owners Chad and Melissa Sullivan avoid the state's Chapter 91 licensing process. Project representative Jake Zaretti of S&S Outdoor Spaces Inc. said the plan keeps a gravel walkway neighbors use to reach the shoreline, calling it "one of the requests of the neighbors." The commission barred removal of an old concrete wall fragment and a stump and continued two other matters, an accessory dwelling unit application at 88 Union Point Road and a wetlands restoration update at 71R Mindbrook Road, to May 26.
Parent also reported the town will pave the remainder of Cooper Road this year to stop sediment runoff into a nearby cove.
