Commission OKs Point Breeze Repairs, Adds Spill Conditions
Webster Conservation Commission approves Point Breeze gas dock repairs with new spill conditions.
Conservation · Meeting of August 31, 2026
Webster Conservation Commission approves Point Breeze gas dock repairs with new spill conditions. The board voted 5-0, with one abstention, to approve repairs to the nearly century-old gas station and boathouse structure at the Point Breeze Road marina on Webster Lake, conditioned on the owner producing an emergency spill-response plan and an on-site containment kit. Conservation Agent Richard Parent said town fire booms are stored away from the site and would take too long to deploy, prompting the added condition, calling the gas station the "number one" pollution risk on the lake.
Separately, the board ratified an enforcement order against a Cooper Road homeowner after runoff twice fouled a stream leading to the lake following a July 20 storm, and continued a 106 Lakeside Avenue retaining-wall case after the state flagged the proposed wall for encroaching below the mean high-water line.
