Webster's Board of Selectmen approved closing documents for a new bond issue after the town kept its AA rating. A finance official said the issue drew nine bids, from 3.135 to 3.29, and that S&P's contacts cautioned the town to replenish reserves it is using, or risk a downgrade "in a year or two." The board approved the documents by voice vote on a motion by Selectman Mark Rogers. Officials also outlined a strategic master plan, with a funding request planned for May Town Meeting and a target finish of February 1, 2027.
The town administrator said state aid came in better than expected, though a structural gap remains. Selectmen vowed to keep fighting a Thompson, Connecticut project's access through Bryan Road.
