Conservation · Meeting of February 2, 2026
Webster Conservation Commission continued five hearings to Feb. 17 and approved a call for environmental award nominations. Commissioners voted unanimously on each continuation, covering 67 Wawala Park Road, 38 and 40 Bates Point Road, 11 Pavilion Avenue and the South Main Street site, where DEP wanted development moved out of the riverfront area. The Pavilion Avenue hearing waits on a variance request before the Zoning Board of Appeals.
The commission approved publicizing Webster's Environmental Leadership Award, with nominations due March 13 and the award set for May 18. Members kept three priorities for 2026 and discussed a fourth, exploring a local bylaw, which one member called "a maturation process as a board." A new conservation agent was announced to start Feb. 23.
